Dear Parents/Guardians,
Your child has been given his/her green verification form today.  Please review the form and make sure that your information is current and note any changes or additions that are relevant.  We would like to update our records so that your child will be safe at school.
We have also decided to register our school for cash online.  This requires that all parents register their child on the school website so that you can make payments directly online.  When you register, you will be required to insert your child’s PEN number.  I have included the PEN number on a white sticker in the corner of the green verification form for your convenience.
Please follow these instructions to find the cash online site:
Go to the SD62 website: sd62.bc.ca
Click on the PARENT tab.
Click on the SCHOOL FEES tab.
Then fill out the Cash online form.  There are instructions provided.
The first item that is available for you to pay is the Student Agenda which will be $6.75.
Thank you and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Respectfully,
V. Ives

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Tomorrow, Friday, September 6th, your child will be introduced to their new classroom teacher around 9:00am.  We have worked hard to make the classrooms equitable for all.  We have taken many things into consideration when building the classrooms.  We understand that we can not make everyone happy, but we ask that you talk to your child about makig new friends, that changes are hard but that they can do it, and encourage them to be flexible in their thinking.  Change is hard for most of us, but with time, we often come to embrace the change.

Please remember to make a meeting spot with your child in the morning when you drop them off, as they may be using a different exit door at the end of the day.

  • Please bring school supplies tomorrow.
  • Hot lunches start on Monday, Sept. 9th, forms will be coming home soon.

SLIME RECIPES – We are asking families to be aware of how their children are making slime and please be sure they are not using borax. There are many ways to make slime without borax and recipes can be found at

https://www.funwithmama.com/make-slime-without-borax/

If you are able to, please send in children’s books in good condition for our book rack in the foyer. Students check this regularly to ‘bring a book/take a book’ and having fresh titles helps keep it going!

The PAC is asking for gently used smaller toy donations for the Fun Fair. A donation bin is set up outside the office. Also if any families have a home business or work for a company that have anything they’d like to donate for the “Loonie/Twoonie” auction they can email  ruthkingpac@gmail.com. Attendance at school is important to us.  Please try to have your children at school on time and ready for school.  If your child is late, please remember to sign them in at the office before heading to class.  If your child is going to be away, please call the safe arrivals phone line: 250-478-1447 TOYS AT SCHOOL         Please remind students not to bring their own toys to school.  We have plenty of things for the students to do at school, and unfortunately their own toys tend to cause issues in the classroom and on the playground.  Thank you for monitoring what your child puts in their backpacks.
