Week of March 8 – 12 Last Week Before SPRING BREAK

It is the last week before Spring Break.  This week we are celebrating “Literacy Week”.  There are several exciting things happening.  Please see the calendar below for more details.

Reminders:

  • Please remember to do the Daily Health Check with your child and keep them home if your child is sick.
  • If your child is going to be away from school, it is important to email your child’s teacher to let them know.
  • Please remember to wear a mask when you are on the playground with your child and safe on the non-paved areas. Thank you, our staff appreciates your support.

This Week is Literacy Week:

Monday – March 8th

·        Monday Morning Meeting and Literacy Week Kick Off – Cohort #6 will be in the gym

·        Lunch Program – carrot cinnamon loaf; cheese and chicken quesadilla

·        Reading Rocks – Wear your Funky Socks!

·        Ren Louie Role Model – 9:00, Ms.Chan; 10:30, Ms.Deichmann; 12:50, Ms.Sabyan)

·        Whole School read at 12:40pm
Tuesday – March 9th

·        Poetry in Motion – Poem in your Pocket (read poems to students in your cohort and write it in your passport)

·        Lunch Program – red apple; perogies shredded cheese and sour cream

·        Popcorn and Smencil Day for those who have ordered

·        Whole School read at 12:40pm

·        PAC meeting at 6:30pm via ZOOM;  
Wednesday – Mar 10th

·        Writing Wednesday – wear a t-shirt with a message on it!  You can write a message on a t-shirt and wear it to school or find a t-shirt that already has a message on it.

·        Lunch Program – yogurt; open faced pizza bagel

·        Whole School read at 12:40pm
Thursday – Mar 11th

·        Storytelling Day – Book Walk

·        Victoria Grizzly Hockey Team Conversations with some classes

·        Lunch Program – banana; hearty beef and bean chili with sweet corn; and cornbread

·        Whole School read at 12:40pm
Friday – March 12th

·        Dress as your Favorite Book Character today

·        Lunch Program – No nut granola bar; roast beef and cheddar sandwich with iceberg lettuce

·        PIZZA DAY – sponsored by the RK PAC

·        Whole School read at 12:40pm
