Monday – Jan. 16th

·        Martin Luther King Day today

·        Black Shirt Day – wear a black shirt in support of anti-racism

·        Lunch Program – Tortellini Marinara, mandarin orange
Tuesday – Jan. 17th

·        Lunch Program – Taco salad and chicken, banana bread

·        Popcorn and Smencils (smelly pencils) handed out today for those who ordered.  This is a PAC fundraiser.
Wednesday – Jan. 18th

 

·        Lunch Program – Meatball sub, banana
Thursday – Jan. 19th ·        Lunch Program – Cucumber cream cheese bagel,  red apple
Friday – Jan .20th

·        Lunch Program – Turkey and Swiss cheese wrap with cranberry mayo, rice krispie square

·        First Family Food Market is starting today after the bell at 2:23pm

 

Staff Spotlight:

Ms. Diercks works currently as a Teacher on Call (TOC) in our school district, but she has been a teacher since 1983, mostly doing learning assistance. Ms. Diercks retired in 2016. But she really missed teaching and working here, so she came back.

Before she came to Ruth King many moons ago, Ms. Diercks worked in Surrey, at John Muir, and Happy Valley Elementary.

Her favourite part about working here are the amazing kind kids, the thoughtful staff, the vibes when walking into the school, and the school being so friendly.

Ms. Diercks’ favourite thing to do is to walk on the beach, read books, and spend time with her grandchildren.

She loves to read ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’, and any type of mystery books!
