 Hello Parents/Guardians,

Welcome back to school everyone!  I am looking forward to seeing all your children’s smiling faces in the morning.  I hope you and your children have had a relaxing, yet eventful spring break and are well rested for the final term.  Our first day back will be April 1st which is April Fool’s Day.  Hopefully we will not have too many jokesters in the crowd, but a little joke never hurt anyone and often brings a smile to those around.

Reminders:

Attendance at school is important to us.  Please try to have your children at school on time and ready for school.  If your child is late, please remember to sign them in at the office before heading up to class.  If your child is going to be away, please call the safe arrivals phone line: 250-478-1447 We are continually looking for volunteers for our “One to One Reading Program.”  Please contact Ms. V. Ives if you have some spare time to read with kids or if you know someone with some spare time. We have been experiencing some ongoing issues with speeders on both Goldstream Ave. and Jacklin Road.  The RCMP has set up speed traps to assist with this on our request, but please remind your children to always cross with the crossing guard at the cross-walk.  Parents dropping off students should do so at the back of the school (Matson Rd.) for safety reasons.

The hot lunch program is available to everyone. *If you need financial assistance in order for your child/children to participate in this program, please contact the school regarding our payment options. Read with your children every day. Children learn to read by practicing and listening to others read to them.  Try to build this into your daily routine if possible.  It will make a world of difference!
